Recent Updates.

So, I’ve been working (baby-sitting Kumon kids), sleeping (hibernating like a polar bear), eating (pigging out whenever I get the chance), shopping (spending serious dough), yumcha-ing and visa-ing. That sort of sums up my entire Chinese New Year this 2008. It’s nice to meet up with friends once in awhile and have a nice chat about stuff, you know, like catching up with one another and exchanging stories and experiences. All in all, it’s been a pretty quiet time here in KL, everyone’s busy with their own lives. Besides, many of my friends are away, hometown la, overseas la, university la, all over the place basically. I did however manage to meet up with Zaccheus, Ching Fui, Ching Koon, Richard and Jamie, as well as a couple of new people of whom I would be working closely with in the coming month or so.  Yeah, all is good up till now and I ain’t complaining. Am just waiting for Kumi to return home to Malaysia for some banana leaf rice and possibly some partying-booze-and-lepaking sessions before I leave, you hear that Kok? Get your ass back here soon if you’re reading this haha.

Shopping has been absolutely awesome this time around. Good for the soul but bad for the pockets. And by that, I mean serious damage to the wallet. Bought my first pair of Armani jeans over the weekend, as well as a sporty Armani top for The GF, in addition to a couple of GUESS tops that I had gotten for her later on that same day. Initially, I had wanted to purchase a second GUESS handbag for her. But I suppose it’s better to have her around to pick the one that she loves most, rather than I pick something that she wouldn’t fancy much. It’s also partly because there are so many pretty ones to choose from! The first GUESS handbag that I picked for her the last time suits her perfectly but I’m not sure if I’d be that lucky the second time around haha. Even though I didn’t manage to get the handbag that I had wanted to get for her, I have a feeling she’s going to love the tops that I had bought for her to bits, so yeah, as long as she’s happy, I’m happy. =)

Anyway, I’ve made a promise to myself to not buy any clothing at all, apart from winter underwear (socks, long johns, etc etc..) or shoes in the next two weeks. So please, please (Fleur? Sue Ann? Anyone?), do me a favour by distracting me from shopping the moment you know or find out that I have any intentions at all to get my hands on something (other than winter underwear and shoes that is) even as I try to refrain myself from breaking my own promise simply because I have too much free time in my hands and I tend to err, stray into shopping complexes and entering shops displaying the enticing four-letter-word, SALE. Speaking of which, Richard, since you’re free during March, jom mamak? or KFC? Hehe.. =P

Okay, I’m going back to sleep. Will be going for the Quiksilver preview sale later. TO LOOK ONLY! NOT BUY! Heh. And then, there’s work at two. Hhhmm. Long day ahead, I reckon. Enjoy the weekend folks!

PS: Seriously la Fleur, you’re virus is damn bloody virulent. I’ve been sick for 7-8 weeks!!! I demand compensation!!!

Stop And Stare.

Holy phuck. My command of the English language has somewhat deteriorated to such seemingly embarrassing levels that it is disturbingly worrisome in more ways than one, as I am no longer competent  when it comes to stringing together a proper and meaningful sentence, or to put my thoughts into words for your viewing pleasure, what more convey them in a comprehensible manner that is audible to the human ear. I am so KNNCCB-ed. Anyways, Happy New Year and I truly hope that it is a good one, not only for shopping but yeah, you get my drift. =)

It’s not even the end of January and yet I already have a feeling that this year would be a blast as compared to previous years. Besides the fact that I’m turning 21 this year, I’ll also be flying off to the UK for the Phase 2 of my medical course. Exciting times are ahead, no doubt it’ll be tough and challenging but knowing that I’ll be in a foreign land on my own with no one to depend on makes it the perfect opportunity for me to grow up as an individual to prepare myself for the real world in addition to what is to come in the future. Besides, I see it more as a long holiday overseas rather than 4.5 years of studying and hard work.

If you’re wondering where I’m heading off to, do think along the lines of a certain  mythical monster we call the Loch Ness Monster and Nessie, a term of endearment the locals came up with since they consider it a giant pet in their friendly neighbourhood lake. Yes people, I’m flying off to Scotland! By the way Sue, the lake is 37kms southwest of Iverness, perhaps if we’re lucky enough to capture a couple of footages of the infamous scottish monster (if it does exist), we would be famous!!! Muahahahah!!! Ahem. Sorry, I just got a little too carried away, you know? =P

Well, according to Sue Ann and some Times ranking or something, Aberdeen Uni is amongst the top 5 medical schools in the UK. I do feel pretty lucky, particularly in the academics department because I did not exactly expect to end up with my first choice for the PMS (that’s Partner Medical School) matching and coupled with the fact that it is one of the more-sought-after ones makes it even more amazing and I do have to thank my lucky stars as well as my friends and family, especially Elaine for supporting me throughout the entire ordeal =). However, it’s not that I do not have any qualms or mixed feelings at all, you get what I mean? I’d be so far away from home and it’ll be a totally new experience that would necessarilly mean more time being needed to acclimatize to the climate, as well as adapting to the culture and food. So yeah, I hope all goes well, pray for me guys! =)

Aight, before this post gets too lengthy, I’d top it all off with a very Happy Chinese New Year to all the wonderful people in my life! May you stay healthy and be prosperous in the new year to come. Chinese or not (that goes out to you , Richard and you too, Kumaran since I foresee that you might get married to a chinese girl in the not too distant future, just make sure I’m invited aight.. =P), just join in the celebration and enjoy the good times while it lasts! CHEERS! =D

PS: Respect your peers before commanding any degree of respect from them. Don’t be a repugnant despicable imbecile acting as if you’re superior to everyone else and above the rest, when in absoluteness you’re not and will never will be.
